It was Yen Press happy release day today for this shojo, isekai I had been waiting for. Immediately preordered my physical copy then decided. . . this needs talking about now. That’s why digital options exist, my heart is too full of joy now.
I meant to get this out the day after seeing the film while things were fresh in my head. Nope that didn’t work out but Madman surprised the Aussie land and New Zealand bringing Makoto Shinkai’s newest work to our shores early . . . course I had to go see it.
All the convenient time to be writing this as a week ago I finished reading the Fruits Basket Manga all in preparation for the new anime reboot that landed just this week. I wanted give you a scope into for those that are new to this classic anime from 2000’s.
Two years is the last time I watched an Isekai series. Genre itself has always appealed to me but in that whole two years nothing jumped out at me till the rise of a Isekai that’s breaking typical standards.
In light of Fruits Basket receiving a new anime adaptation, which no-one expected. After three weeks I’m still in shock. Now because this new adaptation will cover the entire manga series, we shouldn’t bother with the ‘other’ anime that people think lacks fruitiness?
