The blog needed the lights changing as most of the year been put on the back burner, youtube channel took over all that time. Time to open the windows to the Laboratory as dust is starting to pile up and my sniffly nose can’t take it, with the Sunshine Tag~ !!!

It’s August everybody . . . this year has just felt like a blur to me and past two weeks have hammered that into me. Following picture is from today as I write this, took some well-needed sea therapy with my family. Anytime I’ve gone to the beach ever for sea therapy always come back feeling relieved a little, from whatever negative is polluting my mind. Since moving to aussie land, I’ve grown to the love beach, ocean more than ever, having minor exposure while living in the UK. Where it’s 10% sunshine and 90% rain.
It’s been a very dry winter here in aussie which is very odd but your girl will never say no to sunshine. Today had the nag to sit down and actually write thanks to the sunshine. Al’s Manga Blog tagged me for the sunshine award and I haven’t done this tag for a long time, finally getting around to respond. Others nominated me for this award but the tags have gotten lost among my comments.
Thankyou Al Manga Blog to those who nominated me taking the time too, only right to show I wish to show my appreciation by doing at least one response back for nominating a crazy blogger like me, haha. Purpose of these tags is to find someone new and that bring a light within the blogging community, which is a wonderful thing.
The Rules:
1) Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link to their blog so others can visit them.
2) Answer eleven questions asked by the nominator.
3) Nominate eight bloggers of your choosing and ask them eleven questions of your own.
4) Notify the nominees by commenting on one of their blog posts.
5) List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post or on your blog site.
Let’s see what questions are lined up for me this time round~!
Al’s Manga Blog Questions
1) Who is your favourite mangaka or manga creating team?
After a six to seven year hiatus of not reading manga, last December only then got back into the game, you can imagine I was overwhelmed with what Lita had been missing. Taking a page out of my early manga days one of my favourites that is still a strong favourite is shoujo mangaka Yuu Watase. Her earlier work Absolute Boyfriend was one of my first manga reads ever. Following reading Imadoki, Alice 19th really enjoyed her quirky and humour factor in her stories. I’ve seen the anime for Fushigi Yugi and Ceres The Celestial Legend which emanate her humorous factor all the same. These two titles are on my list to read along with her other english published manga.
2) What was the first anime you ever watched?
I have two answers to this, haha. Like any 90s fan I grew up with the staples Sailor Moon, Dragonball z, Yugioh. A massive obsession I had in my younger years was Beyblade, you know? show about these spinning tops with celestial beasts inside of them. But that obsession is still strong even at my age now. I wasn’t exposed to no other anime from these till I moved countries and my first one that wasn’t the ‘classics’ was Angelic Layer. A series about people using a technological apparatus using headsets to control these dolls through the power of your imagination. My first introduction into Clamp and all up such a fun infectious series.
3) What inspired you to start blogging?
I have a similar answer to this in my about me section but a fellow blogger and youtuber back in 2014 or 2015 Lilac who ran the blog site Lilac Anime Reviews. I loved her reviews, how transparently detailed she was and gave me the nudge to finally create my own anime blog. No longer she writes on her blog but she does a lot of podcast work for DubTalk, where she discussed with her hosts english anime dubs, great fun podcasts to listen to. Go check that out if you like podcasts.
4) If you were a power ranger, what colour would you be?
Would you believe me if I told you, slowly getting through the power rangers seasons on netflix. Well I kinda of stopped but hoping to get back to it this month, watch in-between stuff ahaha. I’m such a nerd LOVED the power rangers growing up but never watched any of the newer ones, they look too cheesier than the 90’s previous seasons. Teal blue, people would be my power ranger mark. I wanted dark blue but the already existing blue ranger stole that . . . maybe I’ll just burn his ranger uniform than all shall be mine. Lita wouldn’t do that. . .
5) If you could have any superpower of your choice, what would it be?
I’ve already got my powers, Wherever there is a storm, I’m there Bro. Extra thunder rumbles usually means I’m angry as a hell, sorry about that.
6) What is your favourite video game?
I’m not a huge video game person, the very few I played when I was younger was fighting game series, Dead or Alive. Me and my sister would play this for hours, seems I realised after playing this I really like fighting games at best. Dead or Alive 6 came out this year and I need that PS4 stat so I can just play this ahaha.
7) Is there a remake that you feel is better than the original (this can be either an anime or movie)?
Honestly cannot think of one at this moment in time, haha sorry. There is a lot of stuff I haven’t seen yet maybe then I’d be able to give a more definitive answer.
8) Is there an anime or manga that you thought you’d hate but ended up enjoying?
Studio Gonzo’s 2009 Shangr-ila. I bought this blindly in sale, first glance was not overly keen on my impluse decision, characters looked weird. The apocalyptic plot sounded unique why I picked it up first. Due to global warming An invested jungle world over runs everywhere. Polluting the air full of carbon dioxide and project atlas people’s last hope to survive. The concept of using carbon dioxide to trade in this worlds economy was fascinating. First few episodes was slow moving but after episode six the plot took off, things get weird. This series good but weird with some flaws. I couldn’t stop watching it though. You can watch this on crunchyroll.
9) Is there an anime or manga that you thought you’d love that ended up not being for you?
Otome adaptation Amnesia was the first otome anything I was exposed too. Purely these games and being romance based, it would be a automatic love. But this series was just a huge flop for me, the main girl whom is nameless the entire time, plain as a brick. I never cared about her as the protagonist, the boys were pretty sure. Two of them are crazy and only other three were okay. Plot went nowhere, I was confused. Sad to say a adaptation that I wanted to love but was not so.
10) Is there an anime or manga that always makes you laugh no matter how many times you watch/read it?

Hands down my number one choice always is Full Metal Panic Fumoffu, I’ve raved on before how much I love this franchise. A series I found myself coming back to time and time again when life wants to hate me. Comedy factor is pure goodness, even if someone has never seen Full Metal Panic seasons, diving into this is easy. I always recommend watching the first season to get a feel for the main characters, Kaname and Sousuke are like a cat and dog. Kaname dealing with military maniac Sousuke is hysterical even more so in Fumoffu. Sousuke doesn’t know how to integrate into society thinking he can solve everything through military methods. Fumoffu puts a uncivilised solider into normal society and it’s pure good time chaos.
11) Is there an anime or manga that always makes you cry no matter how many times you watch/read it?
This year I finally completed a long term goal reading Fruits Basket, I’ve wrote my experience about. Only ever seeing the Studio Deen’s adaptation for years I was never satisfied with the ending. The manga went above and beyond terms of the plot, never realising how physiologically deep things get with it’s characters, learning their inner struggles, anxiety. My mind was blown and it takes a lot for a story to make me cry from reading. I was balling within seconds from many hard hitting parts, story telling is exceptional and makes you shed a tear without blinking. It’s been years since a book has made me cry like Fruits Basket did.

This was fun to go a tag post again, there is not many going around at the moment I noticed at the moment. Thankyou once again Al’s Manga Blog for the nomination, and the lost tags I can’t find anymore, oops. Lately everything has felt such a blurr and writing this was a great distraction, I’ve been so transfixed making content for my youtube that the blog got put on the back burner.
I’m returning to being more active once again on here and in the community. I felt like I’ve just missed a whole bunch of stuff, plus there is a lot for me to write about. Over the next week going to try and write on a daily basis because I need all the distraction, seems like a good time to bring back alive my blog. I’m burnt out from youtube currently.
Here’s to the Lita stalking your blog, you never know. . . where she will be lurking or I should say.
I’ll see you all in the next post!!

Awww, thanks for the nomination and the sweet words! 😊
Angelic Layer is one of those I think I like the anime more than the manga. But I wish we could have more short-length tournament series like that one.

Fruits Basket literally made me cry like 5 times as I caught up with the most recent episodes so I am with you on that one. It was so much fun reading your answers! It’s a little embarrassing I only caught your tag now, but once I carve out some time I’ll be sure to answer this tag!!
